Cristian Cercel

BA in European Studies from the University of Bucharest, MA in Nationalism Studies (Central European University), PhD in Politics (Durham University). Cercel received research fellowships from and held research positions at a variety of institutions: Institute for German Culture and History in Southeast Europe (Munich), New Europe College (Bucharest), Swansea University, Herder Institute (Marburg), Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation Berlin-Brandenburg (Potsdam), Center for Advanced Study (Sofia).
Research interests: politics of memory, Central and Eastern European history, nationalism, ethnicity, German minorities.
